On September 29th, the Washington Post published a story about the deeply troubling strategy being pursued by President Obama's Special Envoy for Sudan, Scott Gration.Gration explained his efforts this way: "We've got to think about giving out cookies. Kids, countries, they react to gold stars, smiley faces, handshakes, agreements, talk." Counting on "smiley faces" and handshakes while many experts predict a bloodier crisis could have disastrous consequences for civilians in Sudan.Send President Obama a message this morning. Let him know you are troubled by Special Envoy Gration's comments and ask President Obama to get directly involved in U.S. policy towards Sudan.
