Additional Information
Rep. Rothman signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.
On April 15, 2006 Rep. Rothman co-signed, with 65 other members of Congress, onto a letter authored by Congressmen Payne and Tancredo to the president that called on the administration to introduce a resolution at the Security Council authorizing a UN peacekeeping force in Darfur, while providing sustained and increased support for the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS). It also called on the administration to hold Sudan responsible to comply with Security Council resolutions 1556, 1564, 1591 and 1593.
